Below Grade Insulation

EPS can be used for below grade insulation which is for foundations and floors of structures. This method ensures the conserving of energy in both cold and warm climates. Changing climates have little effect on EPS physical properties, as it holds its R-value. EPS is able to withstand the abuse of temperature cycling, giving long-term performance. EPS is a closed cell rigid material that is lightweight and easy to handle. EPS insulation will not support the growth of bacteria or decay over time.

EPS in Foundations Pass the Test

Two different and completely independent studies were conducted in Canada and found that EPS as exterior foundation insulation is extremely durable and withstands all the temperature cycling. See the technical bulletin EPS-IA link.
